Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB)'s campaign, arrived today at the Arts Council Sahiwal, and it was a massive success! The worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Javaid Akhtar, graced the event as the Guest of Honor. Addressing the packed room, he spoke about PITB's campaign and how it is helping to positively transform the Information Technology sector in Punjab. The Provincial Minister for IT, Dr. Arsalan Khalid, who was also present as the Chief Guest, lauded the work done by PITB and said that it was a proud moment for him to see such success achieved by PITB in Sahiwal. The gathering was greatly attended by students and faculty members of University of Sahiwal, Arid Agriculture University's Barani Institute and PITB officials. A number of inspiring speakers addressed the event and highlighted the importance of being skillful. The speeches motivated the students to focus on their skills and work hard towards achieving their goals. The success stories discussed at the event left everyone feeling inspired and ready to work towards their professional targets. After the event, the Minister for IT visited University of Sahiwal and inaugurated PITB's "Regional Plan9 Centre" at Varsity and planted a tree in front lawn of Vice Chancellor's office. The Vice Chancellor and Minister for IT discussed some of the University matters, especially the development and growth of the Information Technology and ORIC departments. The Minister pledged his full support for the University and its students, saying that he is committed to ensuring that they have access to world-class facilities and resources. He also praised students' work of their startups at 'Plan9' centre.The minister also noted the importance of academia-industry linkages and the role of innovation. The Vice Chancellor thanked him for his visit and support of the University. Today's events at the University and Arts Council were organized and supervised mainly by the University's Registrar Office, Directorates of Student affairs and Estate Management and Horticulture Wing. Dr. Amin Abid, Syed Ghulam Ali Asghar, Dr. Ikram Ahmad, Dr. Muhammad Ayyoub and Dr. Waseem Tufail deserve appreciation for their dedicated work and excellent arrangements.
