QEC OBJECTIVES

The QEC is aiming to accomplish vision by:

  • The basic purpose of QEC, to meet the challenges of global compatibility in higher education. To develop and sustainable mechanism of quality assurance in higher education sector of the country. To produce manpower this could serve the society in an efficient, effective and honest way. The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) is to be headed by Director (Associate Professor and Professor) reporting directly to Worthy Vice Chancellor of University of Sahiwal. He is to corresponding with the outside bodies HEC and PHEC.
  • QEC is responsible for promoting public confidence and follow HEC quality standard and quality of teaching and learning in each subject area.
    QEC is responsible for review of academic affiliation with other institutions in terms of effective management of standards and quality of programs.
    The basic purpose of QEC for defining clear quality standards. It should also direct the employees to know as what they could expect from graduated candidates. It is responsibility of QEC to develop qualifications frame work by setting out the standard and abilities from the holder of qualification. i.e. bachelor, bachelors with honors, Masters, MPhil, and Doctoral. QEC responsibility is to develop program specifications of the university. These standards clarify the knowledge, understanding, skills and other attribute a student will have to develop on successfully completing a specific program. QEC is responsible to develop quality assurance processes and methods of evaluation to affirm that the quality of provision and the standards of awards are being maintained and to foster curriculum, subject and staff development, together with research and other scholarly activities. QEC is responsible to ensure the quality assurance procedures are designed to fit in with the arrangements in place nationality for maintain and improving the quality of higher education. QEC is responsible to develop procedures for the following • Monitoring and evaluation of programs • Approval of new academic programs • Departmental review • Student feed back • Employer feed back • Quality assurance of Masters, MPhil and PhD degree programs • Program specifications • Qualification framework
