University of Sahiwal Hosts Seminar on Combating Fake News in the Digital Age

In a timely and thought-provoking seminar titled "Building Trust: Tackling Fake News in Digital Era", the University of Sahiwal convened today to address the pressing issue of misinformation prevalent in today’s digital landscape. The event, organized by the Media Club, featured distinguished keynote speakers including renowned anchorperson Mr. Ajmal Jami, investigative journalist Ms. Saadia Mazhar, and program producer Mr. Rana Naveed, who shared their expertise on how to discern credible information amidst a sea of false narratives.

Presided over by worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Javaid Akhtar, the session attracted a diverse audience comprising students, faculty members and administrative heads. Dr. Muhammad Ayyoub, Media Coordinator of University of Sahiwal, welcomed attendees and highlighted the importance of fostering critical thinking skills among students to navigate fake news effectively. In his closing remarks, Prof. Dr. Javaid Akhtar expressed gratitude to the keynote speakers for their valuable insights that equipped attendees with essential tools for identifying misinformation.
